Crokeyz is one of our favorite MTG Arena streamers to follow especially when it comes to competitive Standard play. He has been responsible for popularizing and setting the trend, most recently with his version of Bant Adventures and Sultai Food.
Today, he shared his takes on what he thinks are the four strongest deck archetypes in Standard at the moment. In this article, we will showcase the decklists, and as a deck building exercise find out what modifications he made to the more “typical” decks in their archetype.

This version is more similar to the low to the ground version by SandydogMTG (one of the most popular builds at the moment). Tibalt, Rakish Instigator is the inclusion that stands out here, to avoid the the incidental lifegain from The Birth of Meletis, Absorb, Dream Trawler, Oath of Kaya, Hydroid Krasis, Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath and Mono White Devotion.

This is a relatively stock Simic Ramp list, with full four copies of Arboreal Grazer and Wolfwillow Haven, and no Risen Reef Elemental package. There is a copy of Agent of Treachery in here, but no Thassa, Deep-Dwelling.

Crokeyz prefers the Thought Erasure over counterspells like Absorb, and Oath of Kaya is especially good against the currently popular Mono Red Aggro. We are relying on the card drawing engine from the planeswalkers and Dream Trawler, forgoing cards like Omen of the Sea. Notable exclusion is Ashiok, Nightmare Muse as the stock for the card has died down since its release.

Crokeyz’s version of Temur Reclamation uses Hydroid Krasis here instead of something like Gadwick, the Wizened. Both has their strengths and weaknesses, so we couldn’t fault anyone for picking one over the other. He had Nissa, Who Shakes the World in there also at same point, but looks like it didn’t make the final cut. I’m also a big fan of the two copies of Niv-Mizzet, Parun here against Azorius Control as they won’t have too many answers to it after sideboarding.
