Daily Arena Deck Advisor (v 1.0.3.8)

Hey everyone, I’m back with another Deck Advisor update!

Rotation has finally happened all the way and amid doing server-side fixes for rotation-related issues, I have now pushed version 1.0.3.8 for download, with some rotation-related and non-rotation-related updates.

The download links and user guide are available at the MTG Arena Zone Deck Advisor Tools Page.

Here are the features that have changed since the previous version:

Historic Format
Two new formats were added to the Format filter: Historic (Bo1) and Historic (Bo3). These are pretty self-explanatory.

Historic deck data is coming from Aetherhub for the time being, though that may change as more deck-aggregation sites add support for the format.

Support for Localization
I started adding support for Localization, and have partial language support for Russian now built into the application.

GUI elements for the main application have been converted and translated to Russian (thank you to Andrey Zyabko for help with that), as well as set names. Card names and art have not been converted yet (though some of that work has been started). Deck names will probably never get a translation treatment.

An issue with the auto-updater not handling sub-directories properly means that the auto-update won’t get any Russian translation files until the next big release, but anyone who wants to see Russian and doesn’t want to wait a week can re-install the application using the latest installer to get those files now.

The Culture setting can be manually set in the DailyArenaDeckAdvisor.exe.config file in the installation folder by setting the UICulture key (this will override the current system settings). Currently supported values include “en” for English and “ru-RU” for Russian.

Minor and Under-the-Hood Changes
Some other minor and under-the-hood changes were made in this release, listed briefly here:

  • Added code to keep Historic decks in the player’s inventory from showing up in the “unfinished decks” list in Standard formats.
  • Added code to ignore non-Standard Legal cards in the player’s collection unless a Historic format is selected.
  • Fixed a bug with Adventure cards.

Future Enhancements/Bug Reports
All planned enhancements can be found on the Github Issues Page (and any bug reports should be submitted there, as well). If you’re so inclined, go take a look (and maybe even add your own feature request on Github!)
