Daily Arena Deck Advisor (v

Hey everyone, I’m back with another Deck Advisor update!

It was a slow week for development, and I don’t have any new flashy features to show you all, but and update with some significant under-the-hood changes went online this morning and I thought I should post an update.

The download links and user guide are available at the MTG Arena Zone Deck Advisor Tools Page.

Here are the changes included in the new version:

More Support for Localization
The localization changes and Russian translation work for the main application is now finished. More work needs to be done for the installer, updater, and launcher programs, but the main work is now complete.

If you skipped a couple of versions, this update might break the auto-updater for your version. If your auto-update starts crashing when you load the application, please download the latest installer (MSI) from the link above and re-install the application.

The Culture setting can be manually set in the DailyArenaDeckAdvisor.exe.config file in the installation folder by setting the UICulture key (this will override the current system settings). Currently supported values include “en” for English and “ru-RU” for Russian.

Code Signing
Not yet included in the application, but I have now ordered a three-year code-signing certificate subscription (thank you, Patrons!), so hopefully we can get rid of the installer nag screens soon!

One more Patron will put us over the next goal of creating a Microsoft Partner Center account so Daily Arena applications can be submitted to the Windows Store.

Minor and Under-the-Hood Changes
Some other minor and under-the-hood changes were made in this release, listed briefly here:

  • Fixed a bug that can cause a crash when generating replacement suggestions for decks missing a lot of colorless lands.
  • Increased timeouts for various web operations, and added retries (some users are having issues due to network problems).

Future Enhancements/Bug Reports
All planned enhancements can be found on the Github Issues Page (and any bug reports should be submitted there, as well). If you’re so inclined, go take a look (and maybe even add your own feature request on Github!)

Free Account Progress Update
I have some updated budget-friendly Mono-Red decks that I’ve been playing on my free account (one with [c]Cavalcade of Calamity[/c], one without). None of these have sideboards…the first one (without [c]Cavalcade of Calamity[/c]) I’ve been playing in Best-of-Three without a sideboard and doing okay. Mono-Red Historic gets an upgrade.

Here are my current decks:
