Daily Arena Deck Advisor (v 1.0.6.4)

Hey everyone, I’m back with another Deck Advisor update!

We got a little math-y this week, I hope you enjoy the new features.

The download links and user guide are available at the MTG Arena Zone Deck Advisor Tools Page.

Here are the features that have changed since the previous version:

Mac/Linux Support
I’ve continued working on the platform-independent console version of the application, and have updated it. It still doesn’t do much beyond outputting some debug information and then waiting for a key press, but I’m getting closer to moving the code over that does the actual data crunching.

I would appreciate any help I can get testing this to verify that it works on operating systems that I don’t have access to.

The console version of the application requires the .NET Core 2.2 runtime to be installed on your machine, here’s a link to that:

Download .NET Core 2.2

The application itself is currently packaged as a ZIP file that you need to unzip to a folder and run from there. Here are links to the ZIP files for the various supported platforms:

64-bit OSX (Minimum Version Required: macOS 10.12 Sierra)
64-bit Linux (CentOS, Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu)
64-bit Linux using musl (Alpine Linux)
ARM Linux (Raspberry Pi)
64-bit Windows
32-bit Windows
ARM Windows
64-bit ARM Windows

The executable to run is called DailyArena.DeckAdvisor.Console.exe on Windows, and DailyArena.DeckAdvisor.Console on Linux/OSX. On Linux you may need to manually chmod the DailyArena.DeckAdvisor.Console file to make it executable before running it.

Player Decks for Multiple Accounts
For people who use multiple accounts on the same machine (like me!), decks from one account’s player inventory will now no longer show up in Daily Arena Deck Advisor after logging into Arena with a different account.

Deck Scoring for Win Rate
A new field was added to the deck details for decks that have Win Rate data attached. This is the “Deck Score”, and takes the total number of reported games into account in such a way that a deck with a lower total number of reported games will have a lower score than another deck with the same win rate, but a higher number of reported games.

The math behind the score can be found in the Github issue for the feature.

This score is now used as part of the default sorting for the Arena Standard format, and has also been added to the sort filter.

Two related filters have been added, one that allows you to hide decks with a score below a selected threshold, and one that allows you to hide decks with fewer than a selected number of reported games.

Historic Anthology
The latest Arena release added Historic Anthology 1, and also changed the format of the Arena detailed log. This release fixes some crashes that could happen due to the log format changes as well as cards from Historic Anthology that haven’t yet been added to the card database used by Daily Arena Deck Advisor.

Future Enhancements/Bug Reports
All planned enhancements can be found on the Github Issues Page (and any bug reports should be submitted there, as well). If you’re so inclined, go take a look and vote below on which enhancement you’d most like to see. (Or even add your own feature request on Github!)

Free Account Progress Update
No updates for Standard, still rocking Mono-Red there, but I did sacrifice a Rare Wildcard to craft Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin and built a Brawl deck around it for Wednesday Brawl. The deck was super fun to play and had a decent win rate. I’ve also been playing the Mono-White Lifegain Angels deck in the Historic Anthology event, but have now just spent my last two remaining Rare Wildcards to craft a Mono-Red Burn deck for that event, as well. Deck lists below.
