Table of Contents
The second week of the Magic Pro League (MPL) Core Split features the Emerald Divison. Last week’s playoff between the Pearl Division was the week for Orzhov Vampires, with 6 of the 8 players bringing the deck for the round-robin. The meta has not changed much since then, so it will be interesting mind games between players as they try to bring a deck strong against the top archetypes – Vampires and Scapeshift.

Round-Robin
The Round-Robin was held between August 12 to 14 to determine the top 4 play off. In an interesting turn of events, no players opted to play the two top decks of the format – Vampires and Scapeshift. Instead they brought decks that are strong against the two. Shoota Yasooka’s Esper Control deck looks to be well positioned amongst these.
