Welcome to our weekly roundup of Standard and Historic decks players are using to climb the ranked ladder on MTG Arena! Our goal is to curate and post a variety of deck archetypes and interesting card choices at the end of each week to help you keep up to date with the latest trends in the metagame. If you have any decks you wish to be featured, please tweet us at @mtgazone or give us a shout at our Discord.

There is now a bit over a day until Throne of Eldraine Season 2 finishes, and here we round up the November with some interesting decklists and developments since last week as the metagame settles down.

Mythic Championship VII Decklists

Did you know there will be another Standard Mythic Championship next week? This time we alternate back to the MTG Arena counterpart, where 32 Magic Pro League and 36 Challengers compete for the $750,000 prize pool. The deadline for decklist submissions have now passed, so some of the players are revealing what they will be playing already!

Also note that the decklists will be revealed on December 4 (at 3 PM PST) along with a metagame analysis. It is likely this tournament that will set the standard for decks going forward.

Standard Decklists

As more people rise to the Mythic ranks towards the end of the season and with the higher ranking players holding their places with more established decks, we have some culmination of a few interesting decks. We know that the standard metagame is largely settled on Jeskai Fires vs. Jund / Golgari Food decks, with the rest needing to be built to beat them to keep up. Here are the decks in Mythic ranking that we found interesting so far this week.

Historic Decklists

The Historic metagame environment should theoretically involve the best Standard decks from last season – such as Field of the Dead, Oko Food, Orzhov Vampires, Kethis Combo, Gruul / Jund Dinosaurs and Simic Nexus. However, with not much on the line other than ladder climbing and no tournaments held yet so far, players are still testing the waters with their custom brews. One of the stand outs so far has been Gruul. Embercleave and Once Upon a Time really makes it a strong aggressive color combination as a few people have demonstrated.
