If you want something a little fun and different for ladder, Boros Aggro is actually a pretty underrated and under utilized option that functions surprisingly well in the current meta. It\’s fast enough to go under the Izzet Decks, but features a little more interaction than it\’s Mono White cousin.
While Boros doesn\’t have the best land base, nothing in here needs double Red or White, so I didn\’t include Snarls. We really need our Mana available the turn we drop our lands and the Snarls often end up as tap lands in our opening turns.
Our creature base is focused on value over volume as we aren\’t going to go quite as wide as Mono White, but make up for it with some additional removal and token buffs. Mono Green is probably our toughest match up, which is the primary reason we have the Learn spells(Start from Scratch for Chariots). I was running 4 Ushers, but due to some under performance dropped them for the Professors. I also didn\’t like 4 copies of Blade Historian and Showdown of the Skalds as it made the deck a little clunkier and less focused on early game board development. I trimmed those down for Brutal Cathar, which gives us some more creature removal and another 3 drop to buff.
Fateful Absence is our primary creature/planeswalker removal spell. We also have some Kazuul\’s fury jank which can be gamebreaking if we get some early tokens on a Fireblade Charger. Igneous Inspiration is the final Learn spell. While not the most powerful, being able to burn for the final lethal or neutralize a blocker while getting the card advantage from Learn makes it a great one off card.
