Description
This traditional White Weenie deck works by building the board with a lot of tokens and applying anthem effects for maximum value. The primary method of token generation comes from the Clarion Spirit and Adeline, but Usher of the Fallen can also work while allowing you to save spells for when you can trigger “Second Spell” effects and get more value. As you build the field with creatures, they are buffed by +1 counters from the Luminarch Aspirant or the Anthem effects from Intrepid Adversary or the Paladin class. This deck is particularly effective in the air, as the Battlefield Raptor can get a lot of value from First Strike when buffed by +1 counters or anthems. Reidane works protect you from some of the nasty board wipe spells from Control Decks and serves to interrupt the tempo of any deck with snow lands. Against non-snow land Aggro decks, you’re better off playing it as Valkmira for defense if your curve allows. Brutal Cathar works extremely well against some of the more powerful Green and Red creatures that are currently very popular in the meta and is an essential creature in the deck. With Reidane and Brutal Cathar countering some of the most popular threats in the meta currently, I didn’t feel it was necessary to place the Elite Spellbinder in an already crowed three mana spot.
