Abzan Food Combo

The deck utilizes two separate but synchronistic combos:

Cauldron Familiar + Samwise Gamgee + Woe Strider = Infinite life gain and infinite loss of life at instant speed, this gets around protection, hexproof, and cards that prevent damage

Experimental Confectioner + Peregrin Took = Infinite Rat tokens and infinite card draw, paired with Corpse Knight for infinite loss of life, paired with Prosperous Innkeeper for infinite life gain, also done at instant speed, also gets around protection, hexproof, and cards that prevent damage

Can win on turn 3 but usually turn 4

Card selections:

Gilded Goose is fantastic. It adds ramp, provides tokens, sacrifices tokens, and blocks flyers.

Chatterfang, Squirrel General is our only removal main deck. It also provides blockers and triggers life gain or loss of life with etb triggers.

Collected Company is the best card in the deck. It does what it does and allows us to grab two combo pieces EoT at instant speed. Its wonderful.

Kayla\’s Reconstruction is heavy on the White mana, I generally use the Pathways as white mana for this reason. It\’s not the best card, I\’d rather have 2 more Collected Company\’s but that\’s not allowed. Upside is that it can grab 3+ cards which most of our combos require to win. Very useful after a boardwipe. 

Woe Strider is not only a great combo piece, it allows us to scry to the cards we need to be able to win the next turn. 

Rally the Ancestors is a one of… but I have won many game ones after suffering heavy removal from the opponents. 

Sideboard (I\’m still tinkering):

Sheoldred, the Apocalypse is useful against decks that draw cards. That\’s about it.

Polukranos Reborn is great against flyers and if transformed can end a game on it\’s own. I initially added it to deal with Izzet…. but here\’s the deal. We just lose to Izzet. Get a turn 3 combo or lose. Those are your options. 

Shaper\’s Sanctuary helps to replenish our hand when we go against Jund, Dimir, or Izzet. We should out attrition get 2 for 1 on every target removal spell. 

Authority of the Consuls prevents other infinite combos, eliminates the haste mechanic, and can help gain life to offer extra turns to find our combo.

Fragment Reality is the best removal card we have access to, it removes any card that could be used to prevent the combo.

Jaheira, Harper Emmissary has proven to be a strong creature that can be played in preparation for an artifact or enchantment hate card and still gets to be used as a body instead of being a useless card in our hand while we wait. 

The Meathook Massacre is great for removal and can also end a gam edepending on the board state.

Leyline of the Void eliminates your opponents graveyard. Use it when you want to eliminate your opponents graveyard.
