Just cannot make this work, was Mythic last month and have been trying to climb out of plat with this deck. Had to switch to a different deck because Codie is just too vulnerable to removal, I think it’s only lasted more than one turn once in a total of 10 matches.

Sorry to hear about that. If codie itself was the issue, you could try the Jeskai Control version in the same article. Both have performed really well for me

      • Echo says:

Fair enough, what is up with Unsummon btw? I can’t include this in any of my decks because it says it’s invalid. What am I missing?

        • DoggertQBones says:

The Arena Base Set is legal in all Bo1 formats so your deck is probably saved under Traditional standard. The unsummon is a guaranteed hit off Codie if you cast a 2 Mana spell after using Codie

Love this deck, also having a tough time making it work. Removal for Codie, lack of counterspells, (the bounce spell is great, but it was hard to stop other control decks from using big splashy spells, like extra turns) and lack of draw. I often found myself running out of ammo.

This deck is very fun but also very challenging! I would suggest that if you like this strategy, you can try the Jeskai Control list in the article and see if you prefer that instead. Codie getting removed is a bummer but I mostly found that you don’t mind Codie getting killed as the opponent likely took off a turn with you and if they don’t kill it, you can easily win the game from there.
