The full patch notes for MTG Arena that went live on August 24 has been released, and additional bug fixes since the update due to the backend changes (some bugs still remain at large). As of now, you can access the Jumpstart: Historic Horizons event and craft the new cards that comes with it!
The event is not shown on the main page of the client, so select from the Play menu. To search for the new cards make sure the filter is set to “Historic” and type “e:j21 or e:mh1 or e:mh2” in the search field.
Jumpstart: Historic Horizons event available Aug 26th – Pick 2 packets from options like Slivers, Madness, or Squirrels, get a deck full of powerful new-to-Arena cards, and smash!
Historic Brawl queue – Pick from the full range of Historic commanders and build a 100-card deck in this fan-favorite format.
We have also removed the deck size restriction on Brawl decks in Friendly/Direct Challenges. You can now play with decks of anywhere from 49-249 cards against your friends (including mismatches if that’s your thing).
With this release we are making a large number of back-end changes. These shouldn’t have player-facing impact, but there’s a higher chance than normal for some bugs to slip through. We will be monitoring and working aggressively to catch those and respond quickly.
Account Conversion – As part of the back-end changes we are making with this release, all player accounts will need to go through a conversion process before they can log in. This happens automatically and behind the scenes, but can sometimes encounter errors. If this happens to you, please contact customer support.

Gameplay
Improved the UX on mobile around targeting offscreen cards
You can now right click cards anywhere, including on the stack and in hand, and view the printed text. Want to know what an Overload spell does when not overloaded? Now you can find out.
Cards with perpetual changes, when right clicked, have the option to view perpetual card, instead of printed card. We wanted to make sure you’d know what the card would look like if it changed zones or lost effects, and including perpetual changes seemed most likely to be accurate.
Perpetual effects are indicated with purple text, and to make sure the cards pop in situations where you don’t expect changes, the title text is also changed to purple.
When assigning a group of blockers, clicking on a creature that is already blocking another target, unassigns it and adds it it the group. When assigning a group of attackers with more than one potential target, clicking on an already assigned attacker unassigns it and adds it to the group. Previously, it would have unassigned it, and required a second click to add it to the group.
This release has cards from Jumpstart: Historic Horizons in it.
By the skin of our teeth we got the count in for Delirium and I am thrilled.
We now correctly bold the keyword before an ability, but none of the text past that.
The following abilities have been added to the list of abilities that only display once, regardless of how many times a permanent has gained them: Fear Forestwalk Islandwalk Swampwalk Split Second Rebound Shroud That’s a lot of abilities!
