Amonkhet Remastered combines the set-defining cards and iconic mechanics you remember from both the Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation expansions, but with updated gameplay to make this a fun and fresh experience on MTG Arena. The combined card count from across these two sets has landed at 338 cards, with a focus on the Limited play experience (Draft and Sealed), the upcoming Pioneer format, and continued support for Historic.
Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation are both inspired by Ancient Egypt mixed with imagery referencing Nicol Bolas as the primary antagonist of the story.
Cards in Amonkhet Remastered will be legal for Historic constructed and its sub-formats (Historic Artisan, Brawl, Pauper) only.
The cards are obtainable in MTG Arena boosters, Limited events (Sealed and Draft), and through Wildcard crafting.
All the key mechanics from both set are featured, such as cycling, counters, embalm, eternalize, exert, afflict and aftermath.
Iconic card types and cycles such as the Gods, Cartouches, Monuments, Deserts, Trials, Cycling dual lands, and more appear in the set.
There are 14 special cards included in the set that are not part of the main Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation expansions aimed at supporting and further differentiating Historic from other formats. 5 of these are from Amonkhet Invocations and the rest comes with brand new artwork depicting what they would have looked like had they originally been introduced on to Amonkhet:
