Historic is officially getting its reboot with the MTG Arena’s next update, coming on March 12 (with the usual State of the Game article coming on March 5). This was officially revealed by Destructoid earlier today, with some interesting new information:

  • There are 25 cards in total this time as opposed to 20 in Historic Anthology 1 (5 of them are a set of the Cycling lands).
  • The bundle will now be purchasable for 25,000 Gold or 4,000 Gems, or individually via Wildcards.
  • The Historic Traditional Ranked (BO3) queue should be live with this update, but this time also accompanying a BO1 Historic Ranked queues well!

Below are the cards that will be in Historic Anthology 2. These are all exciting cards from the past that we cannot wait to try, and we’ll be back soon with a more detailed rundown of each one and their applications. You can check out the full gallery here:

In addition, the MTG Arena March update is accompanied by a Secret Lair drop that features Thalia, Guardian of Thraben in four different illustrations on March 12, 2020 at 9 AM PT. This will contain your usual code for the Secret Lair sleeves but according to Destructoid we will also get a code for Card Styles featuring each of Thalia’s artwork. Further details on their inclusion in the MTG Arena store is yet to be revealed.
