Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Leaks Keep Coming – The Return of Eiganjo Castle?

After a period of relatively tight control over leaks, the upcoming February set Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty has been subjected to a series of cards being spoiled early with low-quality cell phone camera images showing sometimes damaged cards. We’ve published coverage of each of these leaks as they’ve come to light; if you missed any of the articles from the last month or so you can check them out here:

In the time since the first leak, Wizards of the Coast has given us an (already planned) early teaser for the set, which included art, images of new full-art basic lands, and three official card spoilers. The preview also showed off Neon Dynasty’s set symbol, which corresponded with the symbol that could be seen on some of the leaks – seemingly offering credence to their authenticity.

Today, two more images appeared on Reddit that apparently depict cards from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. As always with unofficial leaks, it is important to remember that there is no guarantee that these images show real cards that will be in February’s release. However, these cards do appear to be legitimate as far as we can tell just by looking.

The two cards that were revealed are both references to Eiganjo Castle – a Legendary Land card from Champions of Kamigawa, the first of the original Kamigawa block sets. The first one, Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire, is a new version of the Legendary Land with a unique ability that allows its controller to discard it for a damage-based removal effect.

The art of Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire that was shown off in WotC’s official preview.

Interestingly, the art and card name for Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire was provided as a part of Wizard’s official teaser. We therefore know the card title is accurate, but the art is different from what was shown (pictured above). This probably doesn’t count much against the leak’s authenticity, however, as cards in modern Magic sets typically have multiple variants that often include different art. This is further backed up by the fact that the art on the leaked card also seems to represent a different take on the same location.

The second card is also a reference to Eiganjo, but this time on a weird, almost-symmetrical token generating sorcery. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the cards themselves! Transcriptions of each image are provided below.
