More Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Leaks – Images of Four Cards Surface

Just a few days ago, we saw some of the first major leaks revealing content from an upcoming MTG set in a long while – images were shared on social media showing the store poster and some of the packaging for Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty products. If you missed it, you can check out the previous leaks below:

Now, even more Kamigawa leaks have come to light, and this time they include pictures that appear to depict some of the new cards. Before we go any farther, it’s important to remember when looking at leaks like this that they are completely unverified. Indeed, there has already been a lot of discussion online about whether these leaks are real or fake. With that being said, keep in mind that we have no way of knowing for sure if these are genuine cards from the new set, and take the images with a healthy grain of salt.

You can view the original post on Reddit’s r/MTGRumors:

Potential Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Draft Booster Pack

The first image that was shared is this extremely low-res picture of what appears to be a Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty draft booster. With such poor quality, it’s difficult to evaluate its authenticity. Just on a surface level, it certainly looks convincing – only time will tell if it turns out to be accurate.

Images of Four Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Cards:

In addition to the booster pack image, there were also these two images: one that depicts three cards partially overlaid on top of each other, and one separate image of a single Legendary Creature. Two of the cards in the first image appear to be double-faced cards, and they both have the type Enchantment Creature on the face that’s visible.

The third card is a Legendary Land, something that we haven’t seen since the Ixalan sets, and even then, the cards had to be played as enchantments and then transform into their land side.

The second image depicts a four-mana legendary white creature that has a WUBRG activated ability – something that Wizards has done fairly often in the past with cards like Kenrith, the Returned King. This on its own is certainly not proof of the image’s authenticity, but it is something to keep in mind.

Members of the MTG communities on Reddit and Twitter are divided over whether these images contain real cards or not. The fact that all three set symbols are covered in the first image seems a bit suspicious, and some felt that the set symbol in the second image is suspect as well. Also, the formatting of the artists’ names on the cards is inconsistent with how they have been formatted in the past. However, card designs change over time and we have no indication of what Neon Dynasty’s set symbol will actually look like, so neither of these concerns are proof of the images being fake either.

More Information on Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Coming Tomorrow, 12/16

Earlier this afternoon, the official Magic: The Gathering Twitter account posted a Tweet announcing a special edition of the WeeklyMTG Twitch stream that will include new information about Neon Dynasty:

Whether this show was already planned or hastily thrown together in response to the growing leaks around the set is anybody’s guess, but either way, we’ll know a bit more about Neon Dynasty from official sources tomorrow evening. We’ll be back with coverage afterwards, so stay tuned.

What do you think about the leaked cards? Do they seem authentic, or put out by someone just trying to troll the community? Let us know in the comments!
