It’s the last day of the April 2021 ranked season, and the Standard metagame looks very hard to move away from the already-powerful shells that exist due to Throne of Eldraine. Strixhaven cards have made barely any impact, though a few fringe decks have popped up to surprise players here and there, and Blade Historian has revived the
We still have four months left until rotation, and by the looks of things the next set is unlikely to have a huge impact either. We may possibly see another ban announcement between now and September similar to how Teferi and the Cat Oven combo was dealt with only a few months before rotation. In this fast-paced online environment where data is vast and metagame is solved quickly, a shorter rotation cycle may also be an answer.
