In this week’s MTG Arena Announcements, we have more previews for Alchemy Horizons: Baldur’s Gate. You can check out the full spoiler gallery and information about the expansion in the guide below.
Preorders: They will be available in the store for purchase tomorrow, the Wyll Pack Bundle and Lae’zel Play Bundle. It is important to note that the 5 Mythic Packs has been changed to +10 Mastery Levels.
Mechanics: New mechanics from the set include Specialize, Double Team, and Boon.
New Cards: 6 new cards have been spoiled, featuring the new mechanics. Viconia is a card that can specialize into one of the five different specializations, essentially making it a 6-sided card. For brawl purposes, players can select the second color as they build the deck (rather than all five).
Chromatic Cube: Starts this Friday – with a new card list and archetypes.
Below is the full announcement from Wizards of the Coast for this week, and the preview schedule.
ALCHEMY HORIZONS: BALDUR’S GATE PREORDERS BEGIN TOMORROW!
Preorders begin tomorrow, June 23, for the exciting new set Alchemy Horizons: Baldur’s Gate, which includes 81 new cards and reprints from Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms that bring in even more D&D flavor.
Specialize – Pay mana and discard a color/land type of your choice to change your card to that new card with its effects (the change depends on which color you discarded).
Double team – When a creature with double team attacks, if it’s not a token, conjure a duplicate of the original into your hand, and then both cards lose double team.
Boon – A new-to-MTG Arena mechanic, not exclusive to the Alchemy Horizons: Baldur’s Gate set, boon is a way to represent delayed triggers, similar to an emblem, but once they trigger, they disappear.

Alchemy Horizons: Baldur’s Gate is coming to MTG Arena! For our readers and preview seekers, we’ve created this handy guide to preview season. We even kicked things off today in our weekly MTG Arena Announcements, before Alchemy Horizons: Baldur’s Gate arrives on MTG Arena July 7.
Whether you want to follow or avoid the latest previews, this page will help you track everything coming by sharing where upcoming Alchemy Horizons: Baldur’s Gate previews are planned on each day.
Below, you’ll find a list of dates as well as any outlets previewing a card on that date. After the previews are live, we’ll update this article so that you can easily find them. If the link simply goes to the front of a website or social media site, that means they probably haven’t previewed the card yet.
And if you just want to see all the cards that have been officially previewed in one place, you can always check out our Card Image Gallery. (We’ll link the gallery here when it goes live.) Note that these galleries are updated every morning, Monday through Friday, so they contain all cards previewed the previous day (and earlier), but not the day of.
