Hey everyone! It’s been a crazy weekend that started off with Valentine’s Day and ended up with President’s Day (at least here in the US). While we all loved that extra day off work, there is no rest from Midweek Magic. This week we’ll be heading into Aetherdrift Constructed. It’s a nice little throwback from the days where we drove for hours to play block constructed PTQs. Granted the set is still pretty new so it sure would be nice if they made these all access (hint hint WotC).
While there isn’t a true budget option, I toned down the Izzet cycling deck a bit to make it less daunting. You can take it a few notches in either direction based off of your wildcard stash.
Just some event info and then I can get to the deck lists.
While it’s certainly not on par with the old affinity decks, this can out a hurting on pretty quickly in the air. You can pull double duty with Perilous Snare clearing the way and pumping up the jams. Now if only we had some artifact lands…
There isn’t a Zenith Flare floating around to ruin everyone’s day, but this can still come out of the blocks with a swiftness. You can add Monument to Endurance into the deck if you would like, I was mostly trying to keep this one as budget as possible considering that the set has only been out a week.
Start your engines! This comes out of the gate fast, but can turn grindy as soon as you reach max speed. You can draw a ton of cards by Gas Guzzler sacrificing Bloodghast only to bring them right back with a land.
