Artisan – Midweek Magic Event Guide and Decklists

Hello everyone!

This week’s Midweek Magic is Artisan! Bring a 60-card Alchemy deck, but using only commons, uncommons, and basic lands. Without rares, the common folk can truly be heard!

Players can enter the event for free, win some free Rare Individual Card Rewards (ICRs) and a random cosmetic item on the third win. Below is everything you need to know about the event as well as the list of decks you can use for this event.

Welcome to Midweek Magic! Each week, try out a different way to play MTG Arena!

Bring a 60-card deck using only commons and basic lands from any set in MTG Arena. Without rares, the common folk can truly be heard!

Artisan Decklists (January 2023)

Mono White Aggro

Mono White is a simple strategy that can produce devastating outcomes. Flood the board, chip away at the opponent’s life total, kill them before they can kill you!

Mono Blue Tempo

If you’re looking to have complete control over the game, Mono Blue tempo is packed to the brim with interaction and then allows you to go over the top with large threats like Mirrorshell Crab and Tolarian Terror

Mono Black Aggro

If you want to pressure the opponent hard as well as have a really good curve, you can’t go wrong with Mono Black Aggro!

Mono Red Aggro

One of the best Bo1 Alchemy decks, Mono Red gets to keep most of its heavy hitters for this event!

Mono Red Spells

Acting almost like a combo deck, the goal here is to play a creature or two who likes spells, cast as many spells as you can, and blow up the opponent’s life total!

Boros Samurai

*Arena will recognize this as a Limited deck, just change the format to Alchemy for this to work!

Right off the back of fresh buffs, Samurai looks like a powerful and synergistic aggro deck to take down the opponent’s quickly!

Dimir Control

If you want to take total control over the game, it’s hard to do better than Dimir!

Izzet Spells

A mix between aggro and combo, Izzet Spells can be aggressive, controlling, and then win out of nowhere!

Rakdos Anvil

The most synergistic deck of the bunch, Rakdos Anvil is all about getting maximum value out of your Oni-Cult Anvil by quickly draining out the opponent!

Selesnya Lifegain

A strong mix of aggression and synergy, Selesnya Lifegain can win relatively quickly while making it impossible for other aggressive decks to race you!
