Hey everyone! Despite the temperature dropping (it’s even freezing down here in Florida), it’s getting hot up in here on Arena. I’m sure you’ve all figured out that means that it is, once again, time for another Midweek Magic. This week has a bit of spice to warm things up with a Brawl Builder Challenge.
There’s no need to worry if you’re currently thinking “What in the frack is that?” because I’m here to drop that knowledge and some sweet deck lists to get you ready to roll.
Brawl Builder Challenge is basically Brawl (formally known as Historic Brawl or the only type of Brawl anyone actually plays) with the caveat that you are limited to a certain range of Commanders. In this case that would be all of the ones that are available in Foundations.
You’re tired of my insane ramblings and just want your deck lists so that you can get out of here? Fine, I see how it is… just some event info and you can get what you want.
Event Details
Choose one our potential Commanders and build a 100-card Brawl deck using any cards in MTG Arena (excluding those on the Brawl banned list)! Select the list below to see all the commanders you can use in this event.

If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. While certainly not on the level of Ragavan, it is the Temu version which lets you play pretty similar to the tier 0 Brawl deck. It is also the quickest way to some wins so run this if you’re looking to get out of there with a swiftness.
If you’ve played Historic Wizards, then you know what you’re doing here. Balmor pumps up the jams to deal absurd amounts of suddenly trampling damage. You have plenty of prowess creatures to double dip on the pumps. Another deck built for being here for a good time, not a long time.
Who cares if they start out with some extra life if it doesn’t give them any resistance to poison. Fynn and his horde of dorky death touchers will make quick work of anyone who stumbles out of the gate.
While most of these are modified versions of existing archetypes, this pile of kitties is an original recipe. While some of these cats are draft chaff, they do a bit more when the kitty lord is dropping extra bodies and hyping them up. You also have the expected compliment of random anthem effects with Cathars' Crusade going insane.
BUDGET Slime Time guest starring Surrak, the Hunt Caller
This is for those of you who aren’t interested in using a ton of wildcards to get through an event. Luckily you can commit some Slimes Against Humanity on the cheap.
While I was tempted to use Ghalta here, I went with Surrak because hasting up your giant slimes was a bit too tempting to pass up.
