Alchemy Cascade – Midweek Magic Event Guide and Decklists
This week’s Midweek Magic is Cascade Alchemy! This is like normal Alchemy, but with a huge twist! The first spell you cast each turn cascades! If there was a deck you always wanted to try but couldn’t justify splurging on, this is the event for you!
Players can enter the event for free, win some free Rare Individual Card Rewards (ICRs) and a random cosmetic item on the third win. Below is everything you need to know about the event as well as the list of decks you can use for this event.

Maelstrom Nexus Emblem

The first spell you cast each turn has cascade. (When you cast your first spell each turn, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card whose mana value is less than this spell’s mana value. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost if the resulting spell’s mana value is less than this spell’s mana value. Then put all cards exiled this way that weren’t cast on the bottom of your library in a random order.)
Event Rewards
Please note, starting with Innistrad: Crimson Vow, the Midweek Magic promotion given out by your local game store has now phased out, and now replaced with an additional reward on the third win.

Alchemy Cascade Deck Lists (February 2022)
Cascade is a really powerful key word, but does come with a drawback: Most if not all of your spells have to be proactive. If you cast a spell and hit a counter spell or something reactive, you very much run the risk of not being able to cast it, so for this event, I think Blue is mostly off the table. If you want to fully abuse the power of cascade, being fully proactive is definitely the way you want to go about this event.

Creatures (36)
Instants (1)

Since we’re talking proactive decks, it’s hard to not include Monowhite Aggro1 A fast curve with plenty of ways to pressure the opponent seems like a great way to approach the event!

Planeswalkers (3)
Creatures (19)
Sorceries (4)
60 Cards
$139.1
Sideboard
7 Cards
$2.39
If you want a nice mix of aggression and interaction, Monored is a great choice. Good curve, efficient removal, and great top end.

Planeswalkers (2)
Creatures (26)
Instants (1)
Sorceries (4)
Enchantments (4)
60 Cards
$92.16
Sideboard
7 Cards
$30.91
If you like aggro, but want to go a bit bigger, Monogreen is your best bet. Perfect mana, strong curve, and Blizzard Brawl should be a good package to beat the other aggro decks.

Creatures (14)
Instants (8)
60 Cards
$186.9
Sideboard
7 Cards
$2.49
Aggro decks are likely going to be a big portion of this event, so why not exploit it? Monoblack Midrange is excellent at beating up on aggro decks with a bunch of removal and wrath effects.

Creatures (32)
Instants (4)
Lands (24)
60 Cards
$125.81
Play aggro or beat aggro, why not both? Orzhov Clerics is very aggressive, but has enough large bodies that it can give the other aggro decks a really hard time.

Creatures (30)
Instants (2)
Enchantments (4)
Lands (24)

$81.86
Gruul Werewolves is one of the best decks in Alchemy and it only gets better in this event! An extremely fast deck bolstered by a cascade emblem is definitely going to be great.

Creatures (26)
Sorceries (3)
Lands (23)

Like Mono Black Midrange, Rakdos Midrange is similarly excellent against the creature strategies while also being great against the other strategies that may eb present.

Artifacts (3)
Lands (23)

$148.87
