Hey everyone! We have once again reached that wonderful milestone of the middle of another week. While most people dread that IRL because the work week is not close to being over, here on Arena it means that it is time for another exciting edition of Midweek Magic (Disclaimer: excitement level may vary). This week we are going to be playing Explorer before its position is slowly usurped by Pioneer joining Arena.
Not sure what’s going on in Explorer ATM? No worries, I’ll have some deck lists to help you out. While Pioneer Masters is hitting the same day as the MWM kicks in, there aren’t going to be too many changes from the current meta.
There aren’t really a lot of fully Budget options in Explorer, but the Leyline of Resonance deck is pretty close to it if you switch out the Slickshot Show-Offs for Kumano Faces Kakkazans along with turning a couple of the rare lands into Mountains.
Event Details
Bring a 60-card Explorer deck, battle against the competition, and claim victory in the premier constructed format!

Let’s be honest here. A lot of you just want to get in there, get your wins, and get on with your life. This is your plan then.
Nothing hits quite as hard as this. Sure, you might get wrecked by a well-placed Fatal Push, but you’ll usually know whether you win or lose in the first few turns letting you quickly move on to the next game.
If you’ve played Pioneer, then you already know all about Rakdos. It doesn’t lose anything while being ported over to Explorer so it’s a natural fit here. It’s a great deck that has game against pretty much everything.
Another classic deck that we’ve seen in a bunch of different iterations across many formats. I might even choose to add a deck without red in it on here somewhere.
See I told you I could put a non-red deck here. This deck packs lots of annoying creatures which abuse Enduring Innocence to pump out the card advantage. Collected Company is of course the star of the show.
This crazy old thing is still legal in explorer despite getting the axe in other formats due to being supremely annoying to play against. If you still want to do the thing, feel free to drive your opponent insane with always having priority.
Thanks for reading! I’ll be back next week with your next dose of Midweek Magic featuring a Pioneer Masters centered Brawl Builders Challenge. Until then, stay classy people!
