Hey everyone! We’ve actually come to the end for Final Fantasy (at least as far as being the current set on MTG Arena). I’m sure you were expecting some terrible dad joke about it being the finale, but I’m going to have to leave you hanging here. As a lover of the IP, I am a little sad to see it go, but we do get a chance to give it a proper goodbye with one last Midweek Magic. This week it will be Final Fantasy quick draft (or phantom bot draft if you wanna be like that).
This format has been out for awhile and is well past solved so I’m not going to bore you with a bunch of details about it. The most popular quick draft deck has been Izzet spells, my teammate Dafore had great success forcing it for awhile and the numbers back it up. I do love the over the top take all the bombs and fixing decks, but it’s a little harder to pull off with a bunch of rare drafting bots. It’s a pretty balanced format so you’ll be fine as long as you navigate your way through the draft well.
