Innistrad: Crimson Vow Debut Stream

On October 28, at 9 AM PT, Innistrad: Crimson Vow is making its debut on the official Magic: The Gathering Twitch and YouTube channel! A continuation from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, we are promised a vampire-centric set, focused on a wedding involving one of the main characters Olivia Voldaren and perhaps someone from the Markov family…

The stream will reveal the first lot of information about the upcoming set, to be released to MTG Arena on November 11, 2021. On this page, we will be collecting all the information from the stream here, which will include new cards, mechanics, and more. You can also view the stream live using the player below, as it happens!

Here are some more important links, to serve as a hub for all your Innistrad: Crimson Vow information:

Mechanics

Day/Night Cycle

We have confirmation that werewolves will be returning in Crimson Vow to some extent, and the day/night cycle mechanic will be returning along with them.

Disturb

Like the day/night cycle, the Disturb mechanic will also be returning from Midnight Hunt. Cards with Disturb can be cast from their owner’s graveyard by paying the Disturb cost and enter the battlefield transformed.

Exploit

Another mechanic will be returning in Crimson Vow, but unlike the other two, this one comes from the past.Exploit, which originated with Dragons of Tarkir, has the rules text “When this creature enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice a creature.” Then, creatures with Exploit typically have another ability that triggers whenever it exploits a creature.

Blood Tokens

A new type of artifact token is coming to Magic: The Gathering! Blood tokens are created by certain cards in Crimson Vow, and have the text “{1}, {T}, Discard a card, Sacrifice this artifact: Draw a card.”

Cleave

New with Crimson Vow, the Cleave mechanic has the explainer text “You may cast this spell for its cleave cost. If you do, remove the words in the square brackets.” This wild mechanic removes text from cards! Check out the example below, Dig Up:

Training

Our final ability that was revealed in today’s stream is Training! Training says “Whenever this creature attacks with another creature with greater power, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature.” Similar to Mentor from Guilds of Ravnica, This small buff can add up to a lot of value. The card that Wizards provided as an example for the mechanic is Savior of Ollenbock:

I have a question. If I have 4 Thalia from historic, will I have duplicate protection opening Crimson Vow packets?
