Innistrad: Crimson Vow is the follow up Magic: The Gathering expansion to Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, and will be the 6th set in post-rotation Standard. The timing of the release was shifted to be earlier than usual, but no changes are made to the current yearly rotation cycle.
Crimson Vow is also set in the world of Innistrad, and the storyline is continued. The set’s theme is Vampires, and will even feature the biggest vampire wedding in Innistrad history – a bonding between the Markov and Voldaren bloodlines to control the fate of Innistrad.

Spoilers and Visual Card Gallery
Innistrad: Crimson Vow previews started October 28, 2021 and ended November 5, 2021. The full schedule of outlets are published here. You can see the complete card list below:
Mechanics
Day/Night Cycle
We have confirmation that werewolves will be returning in Crimson Vow to some extent, and the day/night cycle mechanic will be returning along with them.
Disturb
Like the day/night cycle, the Disturb mechanic will also be returning from Midnight Hunt. Cards with Disturb can be cast from their owner’s graveyard by paying the Disturb cost and enter the battlefield transformed.
Exploit
Another mechanic will be returning in Crimson Vow, but unlike the other two, this one comes from the past. Exploit, which originated with Dragons of Tarkir, has the rules text “When this creature enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice a creature.” Then, creatures with Exploit typically have another ability that triggers whenever it exploits a creature.
Blood Tokens
A new type of artifact token is coming to Magic: The Gathering! Blood tokens are created by certain cards in Crimson Vow, and have the text “{1}, {T}, Discard a card, Sacrifice this artifact: Draw a card.”
Cleave
New with Crimson Vow, the Cleave mechanic has the explainer text “You may cast this spell for its cleave cost. If you do, remove the words in the square brackets.” This wild mechanic removes text from cards! Check out the example below, Dig Up:
Training
Training says “Whenever this creature attacks with another creature with greater power, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature.” Similar to Mentor from Guilds of Ravnica, This small buff can add up to a lot of value. The card that Wizards provided as an example for the mechanic is

With every new set we should be getting a new promo code for 3 free packs, PlayVOW. You won’t be able claim it until the patch drops!

Mastery and Mastery Pass
Be sure to finish your current Mastery before the release of the next set. Also note that Daily Quests, Daily Wins, and Weekly Wins will be reset again when the patch goes live, so be sure to complete what you have active, before the patch. Use our Mastery Calculator to find out how much XP you might expect to gain and what level you can reach before it ends. You can see the Mastery contents there as well.
