The first Standard Grand Prix of 2020 has just wrapped up in Lyon, France! Mono Red Aggro eventually came up on top among a diverse field of 585 players competing for their share of the $35,000 prize pool. Thanks to ChannelFireball, we have the top 8 decklists and the metagame breakdown of the tournament.
Top 8 Decklists
Temur Adventures did not thrive in a metagame heavy in Mono Red, and failed to make the top 8. It was also interesting to see both Rakdos Sacrifice builds utilizing Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger to make them better for longer games. The top 8 consisted of:
- 2 Bant Ramp
- 2 Mono Red Aggro
- 2 Rakdos Sacrifice
- 1 Sultai Ramp
- 1 Temur Reclamation

Metagame Breakdown

Among the 585 players, the top 12 archetypes of the tournament consisted of about 84% of the metagame. The paper metagame still shows the strong numbers in Azorius Control and Temur Reclamation. Also as expected, the Nissa ramp decks (Bant and Sultai) have made their way back into the metagame. Click on the deck archetype links below to see more decklists!
