Another Wednesday, and another set of MTG Arena announcements has been released by Wizards of the Coast. A lot of the content in this week’s announcements are reminders from last week and reiteration of information from the State of the Game.
We’ll give you a brief summary of these reminders and then launch into the new announcements. The full announcements from Wizards is embedded for your convenience at the bottom of the page. Additionally, you can find lots more content on the new set Innistrad: Crimson Vow at our hub below:
Reminders: Crimson Vow Packs and Cosmetic Bundles Now Avaialable
Innstrad: Crimson Vow has arrived on MTG Arena! Packs, drafts, and the two new cosmetic bundles are available for purchase in the store at any time. There is one bundle which contains new Crimson Vow-themed stickers and another that consists of all five card styles for the new Crimson Vow dual lands. You can read all about it in last week’s announcements.
Midweek Magic and the Upcoming Standard Metagame Challenge
Midweek Magic is live, and this time around, it features the “Phantom Quick Draft” format. Phantom Quick Draft is a free-entry event that allows players to test out the Crimson Vow draft environment without paying an entry fee and drafting against bots. However, you won’t get to keep any of the cards you draft, so it’s just for fun and practice.
Coming later this month running from November 19-22, the Standard Metagame Challenge returns to MTG Arena! Crimson Vow has shaken up the Standard format, and the Metagame Challenge is a great way for players to put their new and improved decks to the test for prizes. The Metagame Challenge is a single elimination best-of-three event. The entry fee with be 2,000 gold or 400 gems. Check out the rewards table below:

The Gathering: an All-Access, Free Entry Singleton Event
“The Gathering” event will be taking place right after, running from November 24-28. The Gathering will be an All-Access event, meaning participants can play with whatever cards they like even if they don’t have them in their collection, and the format is to be 60-card Standard singleton. There will be no entry fee and you will be able to play for as long as you like until the end of the event.
Wrapping Up
That covers just about everything from today. As always, the original post from Wizards is included in its entirety down below. In addition to the information covered above, you can also find a schedule of upcoming events at the bottom of the page. See you back here next week!
Want to try out drafting in a chill environment without entry costs or time pressures? Try out this week’s Phantom Quick Draft in Midweek Magic.
In this event, you get to draft Innistrad: Crimson Vow cards to see what the Draft format is like against bots who don’t mind if you want to take your time to read every card multiple times before selecting one and passing on the pack, and won’t slow you down if you’re a fast picker.
Matches are played against real players once you’ve finished drafting and assembled your deck. You only draft once, but you can play as many games as you want with the deck you drafted, and since this is a Phantom draft, the cards you pick aren’t added to your collection.
