There is a lot to cover this week’s on MTG Arena, as Alchemy: Dominaria releases tomorrow on October 6, adding 30 new cards for Alchemy and Historic formats. There are definitely some interesting cards in there, though on first glance nothing looks too egregious. We’ll be following up with our review of all the cards!
The update tomorrow also comes with reversion of the changes to Standard rotated cards – Divide by Zero, Goldspan Dragon, Faceless Haven, Esika's Chariot, and Luminarch Aspirant to their original printed version. Additonally, a rebalance of over 40 cards to Streets of New Capenna cards primarily for the upcoming Planeshifted Draft event. No other cards are being touched specifically for Alchemy, surprisingly enough.
There are also further details on upcoming events, Unfinity Space land bundles to come to the store, and the Arena Opens being Alchemy and the original Dominria limited for October and November respectively.

Pick Your Archetype and Prove It’s the Best!
The Magic player archetypes throwdown in MTG Arena to finally prove which is the best way to play! In The Ultimate Showdown event happening October 8–10, pick from four preconstructed decks representing four of the Magic player archetypes you’ll find in the Un- sets: Timmy, the monster master; Johnny, the ingenious inventor; Spike, the relentless competitor; or Vorthos, the art and lore aficionado.
Plus, look for bundles in the MTG Arena Store that include avatars of each of these player archetypes, as well as space-ic lands and shock lands!
Five Cards to Be “Unrebalanced” for Historic
As part of the Alchemy: Dominaria game update, the original tabletop versions of these cards will be returned to Historic (once a rebalanced card rotates out of Alchemy and is only playable in Historic, we can balance solely around that):
