Bonus Codes

This week, Wizards is putting a highlight on the two codes that they have given out to players for free as a thanks for our “patience during this major update process.” For anyone out of the loop, the update being referred to is the backend changes that were performed on the client along with the release of Jumpstart: Historic Horizons, which has caused a number of problems that are still being worked out.

All players can redeem the code PARCELMYR to receive a free gift (see here for more details), and also the code SCALEUP to receive 3,000 Set Mastery XP until September 15 at 2:00p Pacific Time (more details).

The Arena Open

Wizards has also included some details about the upcoming Arena Open which will be taking place this weekend. The format will be Historic, with both best-of-one and best-of-three play options available. Day one of the two-day event begins on Saturday, September 11 at 6:00a Pacific. Players who qualify for day two will have to sign up between 6:00a and 8:00a Pacific in order to compete for potential cash prizes up to $2,000.

Innistrad Preorders Continue

Wizards gave us most of the details on the preorder bundles for Innistrad: Midnight Hunt last week. Now, they’ve filled in the blanks. Two preorder bundles are available: one which features an Arlinn theme and is intended for constructed players, and another which features Wrenn and Seven and includes tokens for draft.

Stabilization Continues, Plus a Gift Code

Last week’s patch bought many fixes and stability improvements to MTG Arena. As a thank you for your patience during this major update process, redeem the code PARCELMYR to claim several gifts!

Midweek Magic Bonus Mastery XP

The Midweek Magic bonus Mastery experience points (XP) will be granted with the promo code SCALEUP. Redeem the code for 3,000 Set Mastery XP by logging into your account at myaccounts.wizards.com, or in the desktop app on the Store tab.

The “ScaleUp” promo code may be redeemed for 3,000 Set Mastery experience points (XP) beginning on September 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. PT. The code expires on September 15, 2021 at 8 a.m. PT. Limit of one (1) code redemption per MTG Arena account. The code is not case sensitive. Void where prohibited.

Arena Open This Weekend, September 11 & 12

Bring your favorite Historic deck to the next Arena Open, which kicks off September 11. The Historic format has had some exciting additions, including the release of Jumpstart: Historic Horizons, and Arena Open gives you the opportunity to show your skills and compete for up to $2,000!

Day 1 of Arena Open begins on Saturday, September 11, at 6 a.m. PT with Best-of-One and Best-of-Three events. Play to earn a qualification token for entry to the Day 2 events.

Day 2 is Sunday, September 12, and features Traditional Historic Best-of-Three events for the top prizes. If you earned a Day 2 qualification token during Day 1, sign up during entry window from 6–8 a.m. PT—don’t be late for signup!

Jumpstart: Historic Horizons Continues

Jumpstart: Historic Horizons is here and runs until October 14. Pick from themed packet lists to assemble a deck, and start playing right away. Cards included in packets are either new to MTG Arena or use existing card versions available, and cards from your chosen packets will be added to your collection.

Entry is 2,000 gold or 400 gems. Each of your first two wins awards a rare or mythic rare individual card reward (ICR) from Jumpstart: Historic Horizons.

You can play with a deck as long as you like, and when you’re done, you can resign. You can try new packets and decks plus earn more ICRs after you resign by paying and rejoining to play again.
