First deck to cover is Alchemy Esper Dollmaker Combo by Altheriax!

This midrange based deck wants to execute an exponentially growing “combo” that swarms the board with a LOT of tokens in a few turns. The main interaction includes Dedicated Dollmaker and Three Blind Mice. You want to get Three Blind Mice onto the battlefield and “flicker” it with Dedicated Dollmaker which will make it a token copy of itself, that you can then copy when you get to chapter 2 and 3! By doing so you quickly get a token army of Three Blind Mice which in the end create a huge army of mice tokens!

The rest of the deck is full of interaction like Go for the throat or Legions to Ashes so you get more time to setup your “combo”, but it also has a lot of ways to accumulate more cards like Sauron's Ransom and Lembas or even Rusko, Clockmaker which also provides a threat on top of letting you refuel your hand in a few turns!

The last few cards of the deck include enchantments like Hopeless Nightmare which disrupts your opponent and also Porcine Portent which on top of being a removal spell also provides a good flicker target for Dedicated Dollmaker.

The second Alchemy deck to take a look at is Naya Midrange by Kazuki! This midrange focused deck uses some of the strongest cards in its colors to make itself a worthwhile contender in the format!

Almost every creatures is able to 2 for 1 your opponent which makes it very good at grinding. They include cards like Questing Druid, Heartflame Duelist or Jarsyl, Dark Age Scion where all of the provide completely different abilities, but all of them are able to give you 2 effects from a single card either it being the adventure spells or letting you recast cards from your graveyard!

The other interesting cards include Éowyn, Fearless Knight which provides a very strong removal effect on a creature and also Jewel Mine Overseer which will let you create a huge arm with Seven Dwarves over a few turns!

And as for the interaction, the deck has a lot of strong red removal spells like Melt Through, Nahiri's Warcrafting or even Kayla's Kindling.

The third and last Alchemy deck to cover is Jund Midrange by Maria TZ!

This deck also uses some of the strongest creatures and interaction in its arsenal, but it does that in the Jund colors instead! Starting of with the threats again, the deck has even more creatures that provide various types of advantages. A lot of them include cards that provide card advantage in various ways like Questing Druid, Mosswood Dreadknight or Glissa Sunslayer and some of them even provide tutoring like Crucias, Titan of the Waves or flashback to some spells in your graveyard like Jarsyl, Dark Age Scion.

As you can see, this deck has so many strong value effects, that the bigger problem is getting enough mana to cast all of them and with that you even get Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to top it all of

And as basically every midrange deck, this one also has strong interaction like Duress, Go for the throat or Virtue of Persistence so you can remove anything problematic that might slow down your creature engine

Moving onto Explorer, lets take a look at Gruul Aggro by rat korga!

This deck combines the power of green to produce a lot of mana, and the power of red to be quick in closing the game out. Together they create a fast paced aggro deck that is able to “turbo” out huge creatures!

Lets start of with the early turns, in those you want to get your mana engines so you can cast your more expensive bombs. These cards (Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic) are some of the most important pillars of the deck since they let you cast most of your bombs a turn earlier.

Moving up, the deck still has some of its setup cards like Up the Beanstalk which can later let you draw a lot of cards or Fable of the Mirror-Breaker which ramps you into your 5 drops, but also provides a very powerful enchantment. But at the 3 mana slot, you also already start to see some of your payoffs like Kazandu Mammoth or Lovestruck Beast which let you get the pressure going!

Moving over the 5 mana slot we get to the strongest cards of the deck. They include creatures like Obstinate Baloth or Goldspan Dragon where both of them can close the game out very quickly, but they also include some powerful noncreature permanents like The Great Henge!

The second explorer deck to cover is Golgari Beans by Danirobot3!

Up the Beanstalk took some formats with storm and this one is not an exception with both of the explorer decks in this article having 4 copies of the card!

By being centered around Up the Beanstalk the deck needs to commit to playing more 5 mana cards so it can get the most value out of it, but of course it still needs to play some of the less expensive cards to survive. Those include some powerful creatures like Mosswood Dreadknight or Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, but also a lot of interaction like Thoughtseize, Fatal Push or Go for the Throat.

The fun starts with the more expensive cards which can provide you the most value with Up the Beanstalk. Probably the most powerful one is Invoke Despair, but they also include other very strong cards like The Meathook Massacre, Casualties of War or Crux of Fate!

Lets move onto Historic to take a look at Domain Zoo by H2OHappydude!

This deck abuses the domain mechanic with a fast paced creature-based gameplan full of large, but cheap threats!

Lets dive straight into the creature package! Starting of with the one drops, we already got some great creatures like Wild Nacatl which in this deck is basically a 1 mana 3/3 and the second card is Tenacious Pup which gives your more expensive creatures one of the most important abilities for this deck and that is trample! The 2 mana slot is where the deck has its strongest creatures, and they include cards like Nishoba Brawler or Territorial Kavu, which in this deck are basically 5 power creatures for only 2 mana! The more expensive creatures in the deck like Oliphaunt are also important, but for their landcycling abilities that let you search for the missing land pieces so you can get all 5 basic land types for the domain mechanic!

The most important thing for the deck is that its creatures can consistently connect and lower the opponents life total every turn. For that reason, the deck has tempo pseudo-counterspells like Reprieve, removal like Leyline Binding or Lightning Helix and also a damage spell in the form of Tribal Flames which can remove a creature or go straight into the face for 5 damage!

The End

And that’s all for today. Stay tuned for next week, and in the meantime go check out my other article where i cover both of the MTGO Standard Challenges!
