Hey everyone! I’ve been enjoying all the relaxing I’ve been doing on my spring break and hopefully you’ve all been doing something similar. We’re going to be really leaning into the theme of taking things slow with this weeks Midweek Magic because it is Slow Start Alchemy. The short version is that it attempts to even out the play/draw disparity by having the first land enter tapped for the person who goes first.
That isn’t really a big deal and it means that we’ll be playing some pretty standard alchemy decks. I’d toss you some more bad dad jokes, but like I said I’m on island time. (I’m sure there is a layup joke about how I play so much blue that it’s always island time)
Yeah, yeah…I’m getting to your deck lists right after this event info. My budget conscience friends don’t need to worry because I have them covered as well.

Welcome to Midweek Magic! Each week, try out a different way to play MTG Arena!
Going first is always such a treat, but we all have to go second sometimes. To help smooth things out, in this Alchemy event the player who goes first will have their first land enter the battlefield tapped. Just take it easy for a turn!

Izzet Lessons has been so prevalent lately that most people already have these cards crafted. Go crazy with prowess including the slightly depowered, but still great Cori-Steel Cutter. You can’t go wrong getting to draw three card for only two mana with Accumulate Wisdom.
There is a lot to love with this deck, unless you are on the other side of the table.
I don’t know about you, but I firmly support the beliefs of Sir Mix-a-Lot. I can assure you that this would be his deck of choice if he was jamming some Midweek Magic. The signature Ouroboroid does some disgusting things by making everything so huge that your opponent will not be able to handle it.
Your team of bearded dragons (I don’t know why I picture them as bipedal bearded dragons, they aren’t even dragon types) will get rowdy all over your opponent’s face. Very straight forward deck that consists of playing a bunch of dudes and turning them sideways until your opponent is no longer with us.
It’s about to get Hitchcockian up in here. That reference was old even when I was young so I doubt that most of my readers are going to get that one without referencing Ye Olde Google.
You won’t really concern yourself with what your opponent is up to on the ground because all of your dudes are up in the air like Jordan(speaking of old references). If it was real life, you could even yell “It’s over, Anakin, I have the high ground” right before you attack for lethal. You could still do that on Arena, but your family might question your sanity.
Don’t lie. You thought this was going to be a Hare Apparent deck, didn’t you? I’ll be honest, I did have one queued up, but I suspect you can figure that one out on your own.
You could spruce this thing up if you want to toss some rares in, but you can get away with it as it is. It’s all commons and uncommons so you don’t have to worry about budgeting your wildcard collection.
