Hey everyone! I know you’re always in a hurry, but this week we need to take the tortoise’s approach to chill out a bit. That’s because this week’s Midweek Magic theme is Slow Start. That involves bringing an alchemy deck to do battle with a slight modification.
The short version of that is that the player who goes first has their first land enter the battlefield tapped. That helps even out the play/draw disparity a bit. You will still want to win the ol coin flip, but it’s not as drastic as a difference.

Bring your Alchemy-legal decks! Going first is always such a treat, but we all have to go second sometimes. To help smooth things out, the player who goes first will have their first land enter the battlefield tapped. Just take it easy for a turn!

I’m not going to lie; I took this straight from Altheriax’s latest article because (outside of the fact that they always push out quality content which you should definitely go check out) it looked like a really fun deck to play. What’s the point of MWM if you’re not having fun?
It’s probably not a bad idea to run a control deck considering how many creature decks you tend to run into during MWM. Plus, everyone hates playing against heist so you can piss your opponent off in multiple ways.
