Standard Pauper – Midweek Magic Event Guide

Hey everyone! According to my calendar, it is about to reach the middle of another week. That means it is once again time for me to make really bad dad jokes and slightly embarrass everyone related to me (Yeah, I mean you. Feeling kind of called out right now, aren’t you?).

Oh, I guess it also means that it is time for another Midweek Magic. I assume most of you are here for deck lists so you can get your beat on. We’ll get there soon enough. This week we’ll be playing some standard pauper. That’s allows all commons as long as it’s in standard.

I’ll show you what I cooked up for that as soon as we get through some event info.

EDIT: Apparently Hare Apparent and Slime Against Humanity are banned in this event. It wasn’t announced, it was a surprise when MWM went live. That eliminated a couple of the recommended decks.

Event Details

Bring a 60-card Standard deck that contains only commons and basic lands. Look for some common ground with all those cards you’ve drafted and build something new!

• Duration: February 25th, 2025 @ 2:00 PM PST to February 27th, 2025 @ 2:00 PM PST
• Format: Standard Pauper
• Entry Fee: Free
• Ends After: You can play as much as you like for the duration of the event.
• Match Structure: Best-of-one matches (BO1)

Red Aggro

Good old reliable red aggro can get you through most Arena events. Luckily there are plenty of common burn spells to finish off your opponents. Ignore the part where it says four rares, that’s just because of past promo cards.

Frogs

Ribbit, are you feeling froggy? Then jump into this deck to generate some value by hopping Pond Prophet into play over and over again. Is this anywhere near good enough compared to some of the other decks? I’m not sure, but I wanted to change it up a bit so I ran this out there.
