Patch Notes – 2021.9.0

Game Update Highlights

• Innistrad: Midnight Hunt is now released! New packs are available in the store, new Draft & Sealed Events are available, and there’s a new Mastery Pass.
• Renewal rewards are available to all accounts created before September 16th 2021.

Notable Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug that caused some players ranking up to Mythic in Limited to enter a bad state where their rank was listed as “Beginner.”
• Fixed a bug that prevented Commander weighting from working properly in Brawl/Historic Brawl matchmaking.
• “Fixed a bug where the Welcome Bundle was not granting the proper mix of packs.
  • We have done a mass grant to give players affected the proper packs.”
• Fixed a bug where players were not properly getting quest progress from Direct/Friendly Challenges (for real this time).

Gameplay – All Platforms

• If you have an ability that cares about cards leaving the graveyard, we’ll make sure to give you stops, even if the ability itself is irrelevant, if you have another card that cares about cards leaving the graveyard.
• With a change in the rules in terms of how token naming works, we’ve removed the ability to name cards like Goblin Wizard in order to protect from the Goblin Wizard tokens.
• With all the recent cards using phasing, we’ve moved phasing reminder text to a hanger, and off the card.
• We did some work to create a custom prompt for Delver of Secrets. I’m no expert, but I think that card might be pretty good.
• If you manage to give Werewolf Pack Leader all creature types, then use its ability to stop being human, we now list its types as “All Except Human”.
• Updated priority so that if an opponent’s permanent gains an end step trigger during their postcombat main phase, hold priority during opponent’s postcombat main phase with any affordable actions.

General

• Fixed a bug where using “Craft All” on a deck with exactly 1 uncollected card would always say it would use 1 common wildcard (regardless of the actual rarity it would need.)
• Fixed a bug where Quick Drafts could get reset under certain circumstances.
• Fixed multiple bugs around creating a deck while joining a Direct/Friend Challenge.
• Fixed a bug that caused favoriting a deck to not show immediately.
• Fixed a bug where best-of-three Friend Challenges ended after 1 game.
• Fixed a bug where reconnecting to the game could cause Social features to stop working.
• Links in error messages now point to the Support Page.
• Fixed the sorting order of the Lock icon to sort in front of VFX in the Pet Select.
• Fixed a bug where the Japanese rotation info was linking to old information.

Gameplay

• Adventure cards now properly display perpetual changes. Were you unsure if giving Lifelink to your Bonecrusher Giant would also give Lifelink to Stomp? Wonder no more! (The answer is yes, and then that also it sticks around on the card in exile so the giant has it too once you play him. As if this card wasn’t already super good.)
• Split cards in hand now render perpetual modifications correctly.
• Permanents that are both a mana source and can be animated now take the spells on the stack into account when determining priority for tapping those permanents.
