Adventures in the Forgotten Realm Spoilers: Daily Roundup for July 2, 2021

It’s day four of preview season for Adventures in the Forgotten Realm, and today Wizards of the Coast has introduced an all-new enchantment type- Class! Classes have a small effect when first cast, but can be “leveled up” by paying additional costs similar to creatures with the level up mechanic from Rise of the Eldrazi. Several examples of Class cards were previewed today, so let’s get into it!

The purpose of the Daily Roundup is to compile all of the spoilers from each day onto one easy-to-browse page. A couple of quick reminders and then we’ll jump right in:

  • This page is a WIP and will be regularly updated throughout the day as more cards are previewed.
  • This time around, there are far too many cards to provide analysis for each here.
  • Some cards have been previewed in languages other than English with no official translation currently available. Be aware that the exact wording of cards with non-English text may or may not be perfectly accurate.
  • The regular versions of cards have been listed here when available. Special card versions (Borderless, Showcase, etc) can be viewed on our main spoilers page.

Mythic

The Book of Exalted Deeds

Minsc, Beloved Ranger

    When Minsc, Beloved Ranger enters the battlefield, create Boo, a legendary 1/1 red Hamster creature token with trample and haste.
    {X}: Until end of turn, target creature you control has base power and toughness X/X and becomes a Giant in addition to its other types. Activate only as a sorcery.

Rare

Bard Class

  • Card Name: Bard Class

    Legendary creatures enter the battlefield with an additional +1/+1 counter on them.

    Legendary spells you cast cost {R}{G} less to cast. This effect reduces only the amount of colored mana you pay.
    {3}{R}{G}: Level 3
    Whenever you cast a legendary spell, exile the top two cards of your library. You may play them this turn.

Dancing Sword

    Equipped creature gets +2/+1.

    Whenever a creature you control attacks, up to one target creature blocks it this combat if able.

Mind Flayer

    Dominate Monster – When Mind Flayer enters the battlefield, gain control of target creature for as long as you control Mind Flayer.

Monk Class

    The second spell you cast each turn costs {1} less to cast.

    When this Class becomes level 2, return up to one target nonland permanent to its owner’s hand.

    At the beginning of your upkeep, exile the top card of your library. For as long as it remains exiled, it has “You may cast this card from exile as long as you’ve cast another spell this turn.”

Paladin Class

  • Card Name: Paladin Class

    Spells your opponents cast during your turn cost {1} more to cast.

Ranger Class

Rogue Class

    You may play cards exiled with Rogue Class, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to cast those spells.

Sorcerer Class

    When Sorcerer Class enters the battlefield, draw two cards, then discard two cards.

    {3}{U}{R}: Level 3
    Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, that spell deals damage to each opponent equal to the number of instant and sorcery spells you’ve cast this turn.

Sorcerer Class

Arcane Investigator

Cleric Class

Ingenious Smith

  • Card Name: Ingenious Smith
  • Mana Cost: {1}{W}
  • Card Type: Creature – Human Artificer
  • Rarity: Uncommon
  • Card Text:
    When Ingenious Smith enters the battlefield, look at the top four cards of your library. You may reveal an artifact card from among them and put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.
    Whenever one or more artifacts enter the battlefield under your control, put a +1/+1 counter on Ingenious Smith. This ability triggers only once each turn.

Magic Missile

  • Card Name: Magic Missile

    This spell can’t be countered.
    Magic Missile deals 3 damage divided as you choose among one, two, or three targets.

Paladin’s Shield
