Amonkhet Remastered Previews: Shatterstorm, Anger of the Gods, Chandra, Pyromaster and Red Cards
Amonkhet Remastered is coming to MTG Arena this week on August 13, adding the set-defining 339 cards and iconic mechanics from Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation. It has a focus on the Limited play experience (Draft and Sealed), Pioneer (soon to come), and continued support for Historic. CBR.com continues with the previews, revealing Shatterstorm, Anger of the Gods, Chandra, Pyromaster and the rest of the Red cards to be included in the set!
Red adds another board sweeper to it’s arsenal, joining the likes of Flame Sweep and Storm’s Wrath. Like Cry of the Carnarium, this could come in handy against all the creatures that trigger abilities when they die, such as Anax, Hardened in the Forge.
Similar to Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, yet another version of Chandra makes her way into the MTG Arena card pool. This one saw a little bit of Standard play back in its time, though nowadays even something like Chandra, Fire Artisan seems like a better option.
Red also gets something a little bit more exciting, though it’s only a sideboard card. Artifact decks are less of an issue in Historic, though who knows we may see something like Arcbound Ravager down the track to support Affinity?
Here are all the other Red cards in the set, confirmed by the pre-patch data. Red gets a lot of good cards that have a good chance to be staples in Historic, such as Glorybringer, Soul-Scar Mage, Hazoret the Fervent and Ramunap Ruins.
