Arena Base Set is a set of cards that are part of the mono-colored New Player Experience (NPE) decks given to players after the initial tutorial and extra cards given out during the Color Challenges. There are a 116 cards in total including Basic Lands, featuring cards with simpler designs to teach new players the basic rules and mechanics of Magic: The Gathering.

Set Information

This is a set of non-rotating cards that can be used in MTG Arena’s digital-only formats. This includes Alchemy, Historic, and any best-of-one game modes.
These cards are part of the five mono-colored New Player Experience (NPE) decks.
Many cards are reprints from other expansions, but some are unique to this set that you cannot find elsewhere (see the list below the card gallery).
The current MTG Arena collection system means that you can only obtain additional copies of these cards via Wildcard crafting.
You can use any version of the card in the format that it is legal in.

New Player Experience (NPE) Decklists

All players have received the new base set cards in their collection and the new New Player Experience (NPE) decks on August 13, 2020.
The 10 multi-colored are updated each year with Standard rotation and may be further updated. They were last updated on December 22, 2021 with the MTG Arena Decathlon Event 4: New Player Decks.
Existing players will receive cards from the decks they have not collected sometime during August (but not given additional copies).
