Hey everyone! I hope you are ready to dig deep into the Secrets of Strixhaven for this weeks Midweek Magic event. I may have oversold that because in reality it is only remotely guest starring SoS since we are required to use a commander from the latest set. Most of the rest of the cards are the usual suspects of Brawl.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, this week we will be playing Brawl Builder Challenge. It is a normal brawl (formerly known as Historic Brawl) deck with the restriction of needing to choose a commander from the current set. Of course, WotC loves to throw us some last second curve balls and it only says Brawl Builder Challenge so no promises.
I know what you’re really here for so without further ado, we can get to your deck lists.

Silverquill lets you sacrifice a creature to copy any instant or sorcery spell you cast. The obvious plan is to have a bunch of recursive creatures and token makers to let you take advantage of that.
Blech gets his buddies hyped up to smash some face every time you gain life. He’s pretty inclusive because he doesn’t just limit it to pests. He also lets bats, insects, snakes, and spiders get in on the fun. This deck gives you a whole bunch of those critters combined with many ways to repeatedly gain life to ensure that the party goes on all night long.
The best way to take advantage of Aziza’s ability is to make a crap ton of tokens through instants and sorceries. This lets you fuel it as well as give you something worth copying. Now the real question is what are you going to be doing with your new army. That’s where the Glorious Anthem effects come into play by giving them the extra oomph they need to get the job done.
Is there anything as enjoyable as casting a giant dragon and cascading into a free Time Warp? It’s certainly the way I love playing Magic even if my opponent isn’t having nearly as much fun as I am.
This isn’t as streamlined of a plan as some of the other decks, but the ceiling on the over the top wackiness is really high. If you like durdling around, this one is for you.
Don’t want to spend a ton of wildcards on a random Midweek Magic event? Per usual, Hare Apparent makes an appearance to save you from that fate. The commander even synergizes by giving you another hare trigger.
Thanks for reading! Iโll be back in a week with your next edition of Midweek Magic where we discuss Slow Start Standard. Until then, stay classy people!
