Hey everyone! According to the sudden chill in the air (or hurricane for some of us because I live in Florida) the calendar has reached October. We all know that October contains my favorite (and let’s be honest here, the best) holiday in Halloween. That means that this weeks Midweek Magic is appropriately themed as a Duskmourn: House of Horror constructed event.
There is a pretty split opinion from the community when it comes to these events. Some people love them because it reminds them of the old block constructed tournaments. Some people hate them because it involves crafting a deck they might never use again. That problem is further compounded by this event being only a week into the format. I did include a budget list (only commons and uncommons) to try to alleviate that issue a bit.
Yeah, yeah, I’ll stop rambling and get to the deck lists.

There is a bit of a Delirium theme here, but that’s more of an enhancement than a main feature. It’s really about smashing the face in ASAP as Gruul is wont to do. Step 1: Bring the noise. Step 2: Bring the funk. Step 3: Profit.
For those of you wondering why I am playing Terramorphic Expanse over Bleeding Woods, it’s because they are close in functionality early in the game and it helps to contribute to Delirium.
This is the classic case of taking a draft archetype and trying to enhance it into some constructed shenanigans. You can get pretty goofy with a pile of Manifest Dread cards while trying to draw into a Valgavoth's Onslaught for approximately infinite.
You’ve got some ways to tap your own creatures in Unidentified Hovership, Coordinated Clobbering, and The Wandering Rescuer in case you don’t want to risk your survivors taking a trip into the redzone. Mostly you’ll just be attacking to get those sweet, sweet triggers.
Honestly, I’m not sure on this deck. It’s definitely one of the times I would like to be able to pilot it first to see if I need to start from scratch with something new. I’d probably try one of the other decks first, but it’s an option if you already have most of the cards.
The plan here should be pretty obvious. Deploy a pile of small creatures and attack with them until your opponent isn’t moving. The key card is going to be Arabella, Abandoned Doll since it will be taking giant chunks out of their life total.
