Historic Pauper – Midweek Magic Event Guide

Hey everyone! It’s finally starting to warm up again (at least down here in Florida), but it’s always hot when it comes to Midweek Magic. Alright, admittedly that might be a bit of an oversell, but at least this week’s event is a returning favorite. There is plenty of legitimate excitement brewing since we’re about to be heading into Historic Pauper land.

That means you can play anything that is legal in Historic as long as it’s common. The rest of your wildcards are safe this week and that means I don’t need to build any budget decks since everything is on a budget here.

Yeah, I’ll stop yapping and get to the deck lists right after the event info.

Event Details

Bring a 60-card Historic deck that contains only commons and basic lands. Look for some common ground with all those cards you’ve drafted and build something new!

• Duration: January 28th, 2025 @ 2:00 PM PST to January 30th, 2025 @ 2:00 PM PST
• Format: Historic Pauper
• Entry Fee: Free
• Ends After: You can play as much as you like for the duration of the event.
• Match Structure: Best-of-one matches (BO1)

Boggles

Gruul Ramp

Ramp up to chonkers with your Writhing Chrysalis also turning into one after providing you with that burst up the mana curve.  Most of your top end having other early game applications means you won’t get stuck staring at a hand full of super sized critters.
