January 2020 Ranked Season

Welcome to the first ranked season of 2020! In January, we have the release of Theros: Beyond Death halfway through the season on January 16 and the end of the Traditional Historic Ranked queue. This may be why the season currently has no set name. Some important points from the known information so far:

The rewards for the season via the client have been updated to be Theros: Beyond Death booster packs but the card style rewards are still Throne of Eldraine cards.
Being in the top 1200 Mythic at the end of the season qualifies you to participate for the Mythic Point Challenge – Ikoria on February 29, 2020. However, keep in mind you are already qualified for this event if you have reached top 1200 in the previous Throne of Eldraine seasons in October, November and December 2019.

All information is subject to change pending information from Wizards of the Coast, so if anything changes we will update this post!

Card Style Rewards

The card style rewards for the January 2020 ranked season are Epic Downfall and Stonecoil Serpent for reaching Gold and Platinum rank, respectively.

- Historic Traditional Ranked (BO3) Ladder (until January 16, 2020)

- Ranked Draft (BO1) War of the Spark (from December 20, 2019 to January 3, 2020)
- Ranked Draft (BO1) Dominaria (from January 3, 2019 to January 17, 2020)

January 2020 Season starts December 31, 12:05 PT (19:05 UTC), ends January 31 at 12:00 PT (19:00 UTC)

Top 1,200 Mythic Ranked players in Constructed or Limited at the end of this season will be eligible to compete in the February Mythic 2020 Point Challenge.

JANUARY 2020 SEASON REWARDS

Players will receive their rewards for January Season at the start of the following Season (January 31, 12:05 PT/19:05 UTC). You must have played at least one ranked game in the respective format to receive seasonal rewards.

Bronze: 1 Theros Beyond Death booster pack
Silver: 1 Theros Beyond Death booster pack + 500 gold
Gold: 2 Theros Beyond Death booster packs + 1000 gold + Epic Downfall Card Style
Platinum: 3 Theros Beyond Death booster packs + 1000 gold + Stonecoil Serpent Card Style
Diamond: 4 Theros Beyond Death booster packs + 1000 gold
Mythic: 5 Theros Beyond Death booster packs + 1000 gold

As a general reminder, card styles are a cosmetic option only and does not add any cards to a player’s collection. There is no benefit to acquiring a card style more than once; if you achieve Gold Rank or higher in both Limited and Constructed, you will only receive one copy of the card style.

SEASONAL RESET

Constructed and Limited Ranks will be reset. You’re new rank will be based on your end of reason rank from the previous season:
