This is the updated Magic: The Gathering full release schedule for major sets in 2024, including their details and card spoilers. The table of known expansion and release dates are also listed for your convenience, with emphasis on their inclusion to MTG Arena.
Modern Horizons sets are specifically tailored for the tabletop-only format, Modern, that includes reprints and powerful brand new cards. This set will also be released to MTG Arena for the first time, having its own draft format. It is likely the cards from the sets will only be legal in Timeless and Historic.
With the release of Bloomburrow, the new Standard Rotation cycle happens: Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, Innistrad: Crimson Vow, Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty and Streets of New Capenna will be leaving the format.
Alchemy Rotation will also happen, with all associated sets for Dominaria United, The Brothers' War Phyrexia: All Will Be One, March of the Machine (including Aftermath), and The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth.
At Gen Con 2023, it was announced that a “tournament Pioneer” may be available on MTG Arena “by the end of 2024”. With the full Khans of Tarkir set released on December 12, 2023, a digital-only Pioneer Masters reprint set will be designed to fill out the remaining tournament archetypes while also being a fun Limited experience on its own.
Exact details about this set is yet to be announced, and as of Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor in March 2024, over 3,000 cards are still missing and quite a bit more staples to go.
