MTG: Arena Announcements, September 22, 2021
It’s Wednesday again, which means Wizards of the Coast has provided us with an update on all things Magic: Arena via their MTG: Arena Announcements bulletin. With the recent release of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt on the client, there isn’t much new information that wasn’t already covered in last week’s announcements – mostly just another update on the ongoing bugfixes taking place in the wake of the recent content additions.
Table of Contents
More Bugfixing
Similar to last week, Wizards has included a list of fixes in today’s announcement that will be deployed in a client update tomorrow, Thursday, September 23. Here’s the list provided:
- Fix for a bug in which Grafted Identity has the wrong art
- Fix for a bug where dragging a card while viewing the battlefield from a card prompt browser creates a soft lock
- Fix for a bug that prevents some Limited decks from being edited after initial deck submission
Upcoming Standard Metagame Challenge
Now that the Midnight Hunt is upon us and Standard Rotation has taken place, Wizards is hosting a new Standard Metagame Challenge on Arena that will be taking place this weekend from September 24-27.
The event will take the form of traditional best-of-three matches. It will be a single elimination event, meaning you play until you hit the maximum of seven wins or just one match loss. Entry fees will cost 2,000 gold or 400 gems, and the stakes are pretty high. Check out the following table to see the event’s reward structure:
Wins | Rewards |
---|---|
7 win | 5,000 gold + 30 packs |
6 wins | 4,000 gold + 20 packs |
5 wins | 3,000 gold + 10 packs |
4 wins | 2,500 gold + 5 packs |
3 wins | 2,000 gold + 3 packs |
2 wins | 1,500 gold + 1 pack |
1 win | 1,000 gold |
0 wins | 500 gold |
Wrapping Up
Other than that, there isn’t much else new to be learned from the announcements this week. See below for the full text of Wizard’s original announcement. Other than what’s covered above, you will find a refresher on the new cosmetic bundles for Midnight Hunt and an updated schedule of Arena events.
