Greetings distinguished readers and Kavus, its me Code again for another MTG top 8 analysis, this time around the location is Rosenheim, Germany, a Regional Championship Qualifier, this one I picked for a very particular reason, the power of being silly, well more like the power of Blue, a predominantly Blue powered top 8 is here, let’s take a look at the Top 8 standings for RCQ Rosenheim, on August 16th, 2025.
A simple elegant stall and win type of control deck, plenty of counterspell options, Beza, the Bounding Spring being a clone option to Three Steps Ahead, with plenty of board wipes and reset options to calmly stall the game into a win.
Another Azorious control deck, but a bit more on the attack side of things, Overlord of the Mistmoors being another great target for a clone target in the later turns, and your usual measure of board resets and stack control.
Our first Vivi in the list, this is a volatile deck depending on Vivi Ornittier, looking to cast as many spells secuentially as possible giving Vivi higher power and adding more mana for further spellslinging, this matchup is usually centered around Vivi being protected or killed, and the tricky thing here is the Stormchaser's Talent playing the long run getting the most of recursion and prowess critters out.
Another Vivi appearance this time being delirium Cauldron, this is a funny one because of the way the Agatha's Soul Cauldron works, even if Vivi is sent to the graveyard the cauldron could have it removed and put a +1/+1 counter on another Vivi, so technically Vivi has two instances of the same ability, so more instances per turn of the same ability to cast more spells, though if this case there isn’t much left to do, because its going to cast its hand out and probably finish the game.
Another Cauldron Vivi setup, same story as Luke, Vivi Cauldron to spellsling your opponent life out, Fear of Missing Out also gives the opportunity for additional attacks with the Vivi ability on it to punch more with higher power.
This is an interesting one a Yuna, Hope of Spira, that revives the good old Omniscience into play, your archetypical cheap Omniscience into play is back on the menu boys, or so they say, blue protected combos are difficult to play against, these are really surgical to play against on the stack.
First palce taken by Yunna Omni piloted by Pierre Marzan, revival enchant setup by Yuna, Hope of Spira, with some great targets Overlords of Floodpits, Overlord of the Mistmoors, and once Omniscience hits play, its all counterspells until win.
