The Brothers’ War Release Date Update

Magic: The Gathering’s next expansion The Brothers’ War, will be have its digital release on Magic Online and MTG Arena altered to be on November 15, 2022 after the prerelease weekend that starts on November 11, 2022:

As we’re gearing up to travel back in time, we’ve decided to make the Prerelease for The Brothers’ War a bit more . . . historic.

Two updates are going to make The Brothers’ War Prerelease events—starting November 11—the can’t-miss events of the fall.

First, at Prerelease events held at participating stores, you’ll now be able to purchase all product in any quantity during the Prerelease window. Set Boosters? You can get them. Collector Boosters? Kick off that collection early. Draft Boosters, Bundles, Commander decks, and Jumpstart Boosters? Yes, yes, yes, and yes.

Second, we’re going to continue a test we started with Streets of New Capenna and have the tabletop Prerelease come before the digital release. That means that November 11 is the first day you can get a chance to play with The Brothers’ War, and you can only do so through your local game store. In fact, we’re trying this again for the following two sets as well—Phyrexia: All Will Be One and March of the Machine.

For The Brothers’ War, the digital release on Magic: The Gathering Arena and Magic Online will take place on November 15.

The stakes for Dominaria have never been higher as the greatest of Magic‘s heroes and villains collide alongside the most devastating artifacts ever forged in a showdown that will rock the Multiverse. The Brothers’ War Prerelease Update – Wizards of the Coast

Players can purchase all tabletop The Brothers’ War products from their Local Game Store (LGS) during the “Prerelease Early Sales Promotion” window from November 11, 2022 and November 17, 2022 as well. The official tabletop release date remains November 18, 2022. In summary, the key timelines for the release looks to be as follows:

• Prerelease: November 11–17, 2022
• MTG Arena and Magic Online Release: November 15, 2022
• Worldwide Release: November 18, 2022
• Launch Party: November 18–20, 2022
• Game Day: December 3–11, 2022
• WPN Premium Game Store Exclusive Commander Party: December 16–18, 2022

For the next two expansions after that, Phyrexia: All Will Be One and March of the Machine, a similar release schedule will also be followed. This was trialed in Streets of New Capenna, but was changed back for Dominaria United, pushing the hype for sales of paper Magic products and helping the stores at the same time.

This also means that the Dominaria United Mastery will also likely end on November 15, 2022.
