Hey everyone! We’re slowly creeping closer to the fracturing of all reality. Until Jace finally breaks everything, though, we’ve got a couple more stops on the Hobbiton Express.
This Midweek Magic we’re getting the first of back-to-back free Limited Hobbit events, which is sort of like getting second breakfast. No elevenses for you, though.
As usual, the format has been solved for ages by the time they finally hand us one of these events. Heaven forbid we get a free draft while the information is still relevant. That would apparently be like taking Richard Garfield’s name in vain.
There’s already so much content out there about the format that it would be pointless for me to rehash everything here. The biggest takeaway is that, while all five supported archetypes are playable, Rakdos is clearly the deck to beat. Unless you open some absolutely absurd rares, I’d recommend leaning heavily into that lane whenever possible.
And if you do open those absurd rares…well, you can probably just splash them anyway.
