Hey everyone! We’ve reached the middle of another week and that means I’m back to hook you up with your deck lists for Midweek Magic. This week we are diving into one of the most popular casual formats on Arena with Historic Brawl. It’s the closest to commander that we get on Arena so I’m sure the queues will be packed with some crazy brews.
For those of you who just want to get your prizes and get out of there, I highly recommend you just stick with everyone’s favorite monkey Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer. It’ll be nice and quick, I promise. I’ve got some of my other favorite historic brawl decks in here along with a budget version for those of you that don’t want to use a ton of wildcards on MWM.

Decklists
Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer
If you’re looking to either blast your opponent’s face off or have them concede as soon as they are paired with you, then this is the deck for you. The entire meta revolves around this because every deck has to either have a way to deal with turn one Ragavan or lose.
It is straight up tier zero so if you’re looking to do a snatch and run on this event, you want to be packing the monkey. It’s very hard to overcome all the early momentum this can build and if they stumble even slightly, it’s over.

Niv-Mizzet Reborn
You wanna get nuts? Let’s get nuts! Start off with all kinds of crazy multicolor cards, add a ton of mana fixing, and top it off with a crazy dragon that refills your hand every time it hits the battlefield. It’s extremely fun to play this deck, but it can have a problem against the aforementioned monkey of doom.

Rusko, Clockmaker
Rusko keeps the clocks running in this Dimir control deck with a bit of a combo aspect lurking from all the clock triggers you end up with. It’s just a matter of time until you grind out the win. Tick tock, tick tock.

Sythis, Harvest’s Hand
This is much closer to a combo deck as you just end up gold fishing piles of enchantments while your poor opponent sits there. The life gain is great for pulling yourself out of range of the aggressive decks while the card draw triggering on cast can grind you right past any control decks.

Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy
Bring out the beef! Kinnan gets crazy by ramping up to drop huge game changing monsters with a swiftness. You don’t even need to draw them because Kinnan’s other ability digs into your deck to put some serious chonkers out there. He might not be able to fetch humans, but Emrakul, the Promised End is a much grander outcome.

Baral, Chief of Compliance
Another sure-fire way to ensure that the fun is distributed 100% to your side of the table. Allow me to present your half of the conversation during the game. No. Not Happening. Certainly not. That doesn’t resolve either. That’s a no from me dawg. How about noooo.
I’m sure you get the point. If you’re overly controlling and enjoy the suffering of others, then this is the deck for you.

Here’s your budget deck of the week. You just turn everything sideways and point a bunch of spells at your opponents face until they are nice and crispy.

Wrap Up
Thanks for reading! I would have preferred that they released the new anthologies before this event so that we had some more new toys to play with, but sometimes you just have to play with the hand you are dealt. Keep checking back on the site for some more upcoming articles from myself and the other great contributors we have at MTGAzone.com. Until then, stay classy people!
