The full patch notes for MTG Arena’s digital-exclusive Alchemy Horizons: Baldur's Gate game update brings new cards for the Alchemy and Historic format, rebalanced cards, more stuff to buy, and as always, a bunch of fixes and improvements.
For further information about the update, card list, content, upcoming events, and more, check out our dedicated set guide. Remember to claim your 3 free packs using the code PlayHBG!
When you acquire multiple cosmetics at once, clicking “Set Default” will no longer dismiss the reward presentation, allowing you to continue to set others as defaults as well
Jump In Packets have been updated to use cards that won’t be affected by Rotation later in the year.
Improved the deck import code so that any deck that declares a commander will be imported as a Brawl deck, even if it would be invalid as a Brawl deck
Draft modes now go into “Recently Played” on the Play Blade after completing the draft portion, not just after playing a match there
Visual updates to the Settings menu to better unify desktop & mobile
After joining a preconstructed event, the ‘inspect deck’ button will be replaced by the ‘select deck’ button, preventing confusion when players are attempting to submit a deck. Decks will still be viewable before submitting one to play in the event.
Gameplay
When a known card is being moved from the hand to a hidden zone, we no longer clear visibility (since you know it’s not the card that had been revealed)
We’ve tweaked autotap’s preference for sacrificing to basically always sac non-creatures before creatures (even if the creature would produce more mana)

Alchemy Horizons: Baldur’s Gate has arrived! New cards and styles await, along with pets and all-new sticker emotes!
Fixed a bug where sometimes the client would hang while attempting to claim rewards on the home screen
Fixed a bug that prevented constructed decks using the “Limited” format from having more than 15 cards in their sideboard (Yes, you can make constructed decks in the limited format. It’s mostly for Direct/Friend challenge.)
Fixed a bug that cause uncollectible cards (used only for special events) to be visible in the collection
In deckbuilder, made the red tint for invalid cards more obvious
Reduced the size of the “edit deck name pencil” on mobile
Commander and Companion slots in the horizontal deck builder now properly display the associated crest.
Fixed a bug that would rarely cause match results to be ignored and not properly applied to an event
Fixed a bug where two players who issue Friend Challenges to each other at the same time could run into errors
Fixed a bug where Historic nameplates were not being properly used for Historic decks
Fixed a rare bug where using the “Recommend” option when placing Mastery Orbs could result in losing orbs
Gameplay
Copies of spells with adventures weren’t showing the adventure on the stack, just a blank space where you could imagine your own adventure. We have replaced the imaginary adventure with the printed text.
Fixed an issue with the display of adventures using the depth art style.
Fixed a bug that caused the Ukiyo-E lands to not show up properly
Fixed the prompt for Exotic Pets when adding +1/+1 counters.
We fixed one of my favorite bugs ever, which was that every copy of a transforming card had a hanger explaining it can’t transform, but also claiming it was Nicol Bolas, the Ravager. Now only copies of Nicol Bolas, the Ravager say that.
Added Perpetual hangers to a number of cards that were missing them
There was some wonkiness with the hangers for modified P/T, but they are wonky no more.
Y’know that bug where if you destroy a Skyclave Apparition while its ability is on the stack you’d get a tiny card just sitting on the battlefield? I thought it was kinda cute, but we fixed it.
Fixed the translation of “Legitimate Businessperson” in multiple languages.
Fixed presentation of planeswalkers that were given an additional type.
Predictive payments didn’t understand that “can’t pay life” effects mean you can’t pay life for Phyrexian Mana, and were giving players stops where they couldn’t actually cast anything. It’s fixed.
Cleaned up Mill VFX on some cards that can mill both players, but don’t always.
