Hey everyone! It is time to get started on another Midweek Magic event and this week it’s going to be chromatic. I know that sentence didn’t even make sense and it wasn’t even a decent pun. With the amount of Magic articles that I’ve written, I’m surprised I don’t just post deck lists while yelling at kids to get off my lawn.
I’m sure many of you are wondering precisely what Chromatic Start Standard is and that’s a totally reasonable question. It’s standard, but everyone starts out the game with a Chromatic Star in play. Standard is such a high power level format these days that the extra card/fixing isn’t going to be that big of a deal. That means we’ll be playing some pretty stock standard lists unless you are on a major budget.
Oh you just want the deck lists…fine…I’ll go ramble about this stuff to my wife as she pretends to listen.

To quote the hippo from Madagascar “I like them big, I like them chunky” and this deck delivers exactly that. Ouroboroid ensures everyone comes out of there needing to go shopping for a whole new wardrobe, but they will do their best Godzilla impression all over your opponents face on the way there.
Having a great deck name can go a long way (looking back at such classics as Cereal Killer coming after the Fruity Pebbles deck) and Spellementals definitely comes through on that.
Oh, as far as the deck goes, this one is great. Dropping a Sunderflock really sets back all of the green decks to the point that they can’t recover from.
This one will leave your opponent feeling like they almost got there when in reality they never had a chance. The air force backed by all of the “Maybe later if you behave” cards takes over the game while granting that illusion of a chance to win.
This is for those of you that don’t want to waste wildcards on a Midweek Magic. It might have some trouble getting there against legit standard decks, but it can still steal some wins against anyone who stumbles out of the gate.
