Alchemy is Magic: The Gathering Arena’s digital-only rotating format as an alternative way to enjoy Standard in a more dynamic metagame. It includes all Standard sets, and rotates as it normally does. It includes rebalanced cards, new cards with each premier set that incorporate digital-only mechanics (such as Conjure, Perpetual, Seek), and sometimes even more!
Our full range of resources are available for Alchemy in the below sections:
- Alchemy Articles and Guides
- Alchemy Decks
- Alchemy Metagame

Rules
One-on-one with a 60 card minimum for the main deck and up to 15 cards in their sideboard. Player can add and swap out cards from their sideboard after the first game.
These cards may also be accessed during the game through cards such as:
- Legion Angel
- Cards with the Learn ability (e.g. Eyetwitch), to access Lesson cards (e.g. Mascot Exhibition)
Legal Sets
The Arena Base Set is a set of digital-only cards in the New Player Experience decks that are always legal in digital-only formats (Alchemy and Historic) and never rotate.
